Job Summary
Part-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide in-home and center-based weekly therapeutic services for youth with mental health disorders in Northern New Jersey. Responsibilities include individual in-home therapy, group therapy, telehealth, and outpatient center sessions; perform bio-psycho-social assessments; provide coping and social skills training, anger management, and reduction of risk behaviors (e.g., SIB or physical aggression); improve youth and caretaker decision-making; collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals; complete intake, treatment plans, DAP notes, and other mandatory documentation; attend monthly meetings and submit clinical documentation; training for bio-psycho-social assessments as needed. Must hold a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related fields (e.g., LSW, LAC, LFT), have relevant trauma counseling training and crisis intervention training, have post-internship experience with youth, be proficient in treatment planning and various counseling modalities (CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, Trauma), be familiar with DSM-V, and be available 6-10 hours weekly after school (12-8pm); weekend flexibility is a plus. Requires NJ Driver’s License, ability to pass background checks, pre-employment drug screen, and eligibility to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship; candidates should be within 25–30 minutes of service areas.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related field (e.g., LSW, LAC, LFT)
- Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Crisis Intervention Training (training or willingness to complete)
- Post-internship field experience with youth and mental health disorders
- Experience with treatment planning, treatment goals setting, progress notes, and initial assessments
- Experience with CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma Response
- Experience using DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Available for 6-10 hours per week during after-school hours (12 noon - 8 pm); weekend flexibility a plus
- Must have NJ Driver's License
- Must pass state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Within 25-30 minutes of service areas
