Job Summary
Licensed Mental Health Therapist providing in-home and center-based therapy for youth in Northern New Jersey. Responsibilities include individual in-home therapy, group therapy, telehealth, and outpatient center sessions; bios-psycho-social assessments where applicable; teaching coping, social skills, anger management, and reducing risk behaviors; supporting decision-making for youth and caregivers; collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team; completing intake, treatment planning, DAP notes, and other clinical documentation; attending monthly meetings; and willingness to train for bio-psycho-social assessments. Requires a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy (or related fields), clinical mental health trauma training, crisis intervention training, post-internship experience with youth, experience with various counseling modalities (CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, trauma-focused approaches), DSM-V proficiency, NJ driver’s license, ability to work after-school hours (12pm–8pm), maintaining a caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff, and eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. Required Qualifications
- Must have a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related fields such as LSW, LAC, LFT
- Has Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Has some training or willing to complete Crisis Intervention Training
- Has post-internship field experience working with youth with mental health disorders with clinical experience
- Has experience with creating treatment planning, treatment goals setting, progress notes, and initial assessments
- Has experience in various counseling approaches: CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma Response
- Knows how to use the DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Must be available for a minimum 6-10 hours per week during after-school hours of 12noon through 8pm
- Must maintain a minimum caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff
- Must have experience providing positive behavior supports
- Must have prior experience working with children ages 3-20, and working with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) is a plus
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- A pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role
- Must submit resume plus copies of master’s degree, with a copy of NJ or Certification or License
