Job Summary
Part-Time Licensed Mental Health Therapist (IIC) to provide in-home, center-based, and telehealth therapy for youth with mental health disorders in New Jersey. Responsibilities include individual in-home therapy, group and telehealth sessions, and outpatient center sessions; conducting bio-psycho-social assessments; delivering coping and social skills training, anger management, and reduction of risk behaviors; supporting decision-making for youth and families; collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team; submitting intake, treatment plans, and DAP notes; attending monthly meetings; and completing or training for bio-psycho-social assessments. Requires a master’s degree in a behavioral health field, an active NJ license, trauma counseling training, crisis intervention training or willingness to complete, post-internship clinical experience with youth, experience with treatment planning and progress notes, proficiency with DSM-V, and ability to work 6–10 hours weekly during after-school hours (12–8 pm) with some weekend flexibility. Must have a valid NJ driver’s license, pass background checks, and be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship; proximity to service areas (Newton, NJ) is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
- Active license in New Jersey (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC, LSW, LFT); out-of-state licenses considered if reciprocity applies
- Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Crisis Intervention Training or willingness to complete
- Post-internship field experience with youth with mental health disorders
- Experience with treatment planning, treatment goals, progress notes, and initial assessments
- Experience with CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma-focused approaches
- Knowledge of DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Available 6-10 hours per week after-school 12 noon – 8 pm; weekend flexibility preferred
- Caseload management for part-time staff (2–3 clients)
- Experience with positive behavior supports
- Experience with children ages 3-20; I/DD experience a plus
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen
