Job Summary
Part-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist (IIC) providing in-home and Telehealth therapy for youth with mental health disorders in New Jersey. Responsibilities include delivering individual in-home therapy and Telehealth sessions, performing bio-psycho-social assessments (as a plus), implementing coping and social skills, anger management, and reducing risk behaviors such as self-injury or physical aggression; working to improve decision-making for youth and caretakers; collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team and other disciplines; submitting intake, treatment plans, DAP notes, and other documentation within designated timeframes; attending monthly meetings and maintaining mandatory clinical documentation; completing or training for Bio-Psycho-Social assessments. Requires a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related fields (LSW/LAC/LFT), state Traumatic Counseling training, Crisis Intervention Training (e.g., CSOC), post-internship field experience with youth, and experience with CBT/DBT/Trauma-Informed approaches including EMDR and Motivational Interviewing; proficient in DSM-5-TR for assessments and diagnosis. The role is after-school hours 12pm–8pm with a minimum caseload of 2–4 clients for part-time staff; travel may be necessary, and a NJ driver’s license is required. Requires background checks and drug screening; candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship (H-1B not sponsored). Compensation ranges from $60-$75 per hour, with benefits and PTO/Sick Time for both full-time and part-time roles; location is Paterson, NJ. The position emphasizes in-home and telehealth service delivery with a mix of on-site and remote work as needed. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related fields such as LSW, LAC, LFT
- Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Crisis Intervention Training (e.g. CSOC Training)
- post-internship field experience with youth with mental health disorders
- experience with treatment planning, treatment goals, progress notes, and initial assessments
- CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused interventions including EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused
- DSM-5-TR for Assessments and Diagnosis
- available for 10-20 hours per week after-school hours 12noon–8pm; weekend flexibility a plus
- minimum caseload 2–4 clients for part-time staff
- experience with positive behavior supports
- experience with children 3-20 and I/DD is a plus
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- ability to pass state and federal background checks
