Job Summary
Provide individual in-home therapy, group therapy, telehealth therapy, and outpatient center sessions for youth with mental health disorders. Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments and support coping, social skills, anger management, and reduction of risk behaviors (e.g., SIB, aggression). Improve decision-making for youth and caregivers, collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, and complete intake, treatment plans, and DAP notes within designated timeframes. Attend monthly meetings and submit mandatory clinical documentation. Must be able to complete or train for Bio-Psycho-Social assessments. Utilize diverse counseling approaches (CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, Trauma-focused) and reference DSM-V for assessments and diagnosis. Comfortable with after-school hours (12pm–8pm) and maintaining a caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff. Requires a Master’s degree in a related field, NJ license/credentials, background checks, and ability to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship; NJ locality serves Hackensack and surrounding areas.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related fields such as LSW, LAC, LFT
- Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Willing to train or have Crisis Intervention Training
- Post-internship field experience working with youth with mental health disorders with clinical experience
- Experience with creating treatment planning, treatment goals setting, progress notes, and initial assessments
- Experience with CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma Response
- Knowledge of DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Available for a minimum 6-10 hours per week during after-school hours (12noon through 8pm)
- Must maintain a minimum caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff
- Experience providing positive behavior supports
- Experience working with children ages 3-20, and with I/DD is a plus
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Reciprocity considered within 25–30 minutes of service areas
