Job Summary
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) role in a multi-specialty practice in Queens, NY. Primary duties include conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, providing individual/family/group therapy using evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, MI), diagnosing per DSM-5, coordinating care with psychiatrists and other providers, educating patients and families about conditions and options, maintaining accurate EHR documentation, monitoring progress, crisis intervention when needed, participating in team meetings and quality improvement, and staying current with continuing education and licensure requirements. Requires a Master's degree in a related field and NYS LMHC licensure; new graduates welcome. Part-time schedule with flexible hours and competitive hourly compensation in the $37.82–$39.65/hour range.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- New York State license as Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Proficiency in assessments, treatment planning, evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, MI), and EHRs
- Strong active listening, empathy, communication, cultural competence, patience, nonjudgmental attitude
- Ability to collaborate with other healthcare providers
- Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Experience with DSM-5 diagnoses and coordinating care
- Knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory standards
