Job Summary
Conduct moderate-complexity clinical laboratory testing in accordance with regulatory requirements, including verifying and processing specimens, reading microscopy slides, and documenting results in EPIC. Perform equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control activities while maintaining accurate documentation and completing proficiency testing. Utilize laboratory information systems and electronic medical records to prioritize workload and ensure timely patient care. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, nurses, and Lee Health team members while participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance turnaround times.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- 2 years of experience
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical setting experience
- Working knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, including specimen requirements and testing
- Working knowledge of LIS systems
- Working knowledge of quality control
- Working knowledge of external proficiency testing
- Working knowledge of CLIA requirements for moderately complex laboratories
- Florida Medical Technician License
- Current Florida MLT license or Florida state license application in process
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Clinical laboratory experience
- MLT/CLT certification through ASCP or AMT
