Job Summary
Process and analyze biological samples from patients in Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology, or Hematology areas while maintaining specimen integrity and documentation. Prepare specimens for analysis, operate and calibrate laboratory instruments, and monitor quality control to ensure technical accuracy of tests and reports. Maintain identification of specimens and retain samples according to established procedures under the direction of a supervisor. This role requires a Tennessee-licensed Medical Laboratory Technician with an Associate's degree and clinical laboratory experience, offering PRN shift differentials and comprehensive benefits including tuition reimbursement and flexible spending accounts.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree
- Must be licensed as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the State of Tennessee
Desired Qualifications
- Approved course in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited college or other recognized institution preferred
- Clinical Laboratory experience
- Candidates with Associate's Degree are preferred
- Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- The ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation
- The Medical Laboratory Technician must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients assigned
