Job Summary
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor specializing in Independent Living Skills Training Services (ILST) conducts comprehensive functional assessments of waiver participants, develops ILST Detailed Plans with goals and milestones, and provides hands-on training in self-care, medication management, task completion, communication and interpersonal skills. Supports participants in mobility, community transportation, money management, and household maintenance; addresses maladaptive behaviors with problem-solving skills training; creates a positive learning environment; and ensures ILST services are delivered in the most effective environment, whether in participants' homes or community settings.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Licensed Master Social Worker
- Knowledge of ADL and IADL assessment and training
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathy and patience in working with individuals facing disabilities
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt training approaches to individual needs
