Job Summary
Diagnose plumbing failures, determine repair needs, and install or replace systems including valves, pipes, and fittings. Execute maintenance and repairs on water and gas components, test for leaks using compressed air or water, and clear clogged drains. Manage vehicle inventory by checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts while maintaining operational equipment and safety protocols. Lead apprentices, coordinate with other trades, and communicate effectively with homeowners. Requires Alabama Master Plumbing license, 2+ years experience, and ability to lift 50–100 pounds in various environments. Flexible hours include weekends and emergency calls.
Required Qualifications
- Alabama Master Plumbing license
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
- Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems
- Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations
- Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools
- Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and supervisors
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods
- In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, with a focus on professionalism and customer satisfaction
- Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software to track tasks and report on job progress
- Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to climb ladders, access attics, navigate tight spaces, drive, enter crawlspaces, push, carry, pull, use hand tools, and perform fine detail work
