Job Summary
Licensed Machinist role focused on programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines (lathes and mills) and heat treatment/power skiving equipment to manufacture steel parts for forestry and off-road equipment. Must measure parts with micrometers and calipers, verify dimensions and tolerances, troubleshoot programs, load parts with lifting devices, align fixtures/tools, and perform routine maintenance on machinery. Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and ability to adapt to changing workflows are required; familiarity with G-code and conversational programming, Mastercam, and Solidworks is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Experience setting up, editing programs and operating CNC machining systems such as mills and lathes, and/or heat treat and power skiving equipment
- Capable of correcting G Codes with conversational programming experience
- Ability to run Mastercam and Solidworks is preferred
- Good working knowledge of tools, blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Load parts onto/into equipment using cranes and other designated lifting devices
- Review sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to create, edit and troubleshoot programs to machine parts
