Job Summary
Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units across residential and commercial properties in the Baltimore area. Diagnose airflow, thermostat, refrigerant, and mechanical issues while performing seasonal tune-ups and preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and tenant comfort. Respond to service calls, emergency repairs, and scheduled assignments, ensuring all work complies with local codes and safety guidelines. Maintain accurate service logs, communicate professionally with residents and property managers, and report unresolved issues or equipment needs to supervisors. Travel approximately 50% between properties using a company vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Maryland HVAC license at the Journeyman or Master level
- EPA 608 Certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience servicing residential and/or commercial HVAC systems
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools, refrigerant handling, system troubleshooting, and repair methods
- Must have own tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to pass background checks and any required employment screening
- Must be able to regularly walk, stand, stoop, drive, and perform physical maintenance work
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational training, trade certification, or HVAC-related coursework
- Experience with ductless mini-split systems, smart thermostats, and energy-efficient upgrades
- Experience in housing authority, supportive housing, affordable housing, property management, or multifamily housing settings
