Job Summary
Licensed Guard responsible for security detail at Elwood/Joliet, part-time weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) from 7a-7p and 7p-7a. Provide security per post orders, establish relations with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments, and maintain professional image with strong customer service. Duties include controlling entrances and movement, patrolling buildings and perimeters, escorting material/personnel, inspecting security and fire exposures, handling special assignments, completing incident and log reports, and maintaining knowledge of life safety systems and emergency procedures. Requires vigilance, teamwork, urgency, and clear communication; duties may vary by post orders or location.
Required Qualifications
- Be on time and report to post in full uniform
- Maintain professional image and greet customers, visitors and employees
- Be proactive in knowing all revisions to post orders and general information
- Patrol physical property or maintain fixed post position and report suspicious activity
- Monitor cameras or equipment as outlined in post orders
- Maintain knowledge of emergency policies, procedures and regulations
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports and related reports
- Know life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, and related equipment; ensure equipment operation
- Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by customer and regulating agencies
- Communicate with Security Supervisor about new issues or changes
