Job Summary
Lead investigations of subsurface and geologic hazards including slope stability, landslides, fault rupture, and coastal bluff erosion. Design foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and ground improvements while analyzing field and laboratory data to develop safe, constructable recommendations. Support projects through design and construction phases via plan reviews, construction observation, monitoring, and peer review to ensure field conditions align with assumptions. Mentor junior staff and uphold technical standards for clients and agencies. This role offers a mix of field and office work with opportunities for specialization in slope stability or coastal modeling. Based in Campbell with a second office in Capitola, the position supports a team with decades of combined experience focused on safety, infrastructure, and community impact throughout the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas.
Required Qualifications
- A current California license as an Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer (or both)
- Strong experience in both field and office work: investigations, mapping, lab work, report writing, and data interpretation
- Solid understanding of California's regulatory requirements related to geologic hazards, faulting, liquefaction, and related areas
- Sound judgment, creativity, and strong communication skills to collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, clients, and agencies
Desired Qualifications
- experience with specialized software and tools relevant to slope stability, ground improvement, rockfall simulations, or coastal bluff modeling
