Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while ensuring compliance with state and federal codes. Assemble, test, and maintain electrical or electronic systems, including streetlights, intercom systems, and VFD programming. Troubleshoot PLCs and test circuit continuity using devices like ohmmeters and oscilloscopes to guarantee system safety. Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs in hot, cold, dirty, and fast-paced environments, attending emergency calls outside normal hours. Complete time sheets and works orders, adhere to EHS and GMP policies, and provide coverage for staff during absences.
Required Qualifications
- Technical College Electrician Degree
- Certified/Licensed Electrician awarded by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
- Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Color vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work inside weather conditions
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
- Ability to work exposed to wet or humid conditions
- Ability to work in an odorous atmosphere

Desired Qualifications
- Competent with programming of VFD's
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC's
- Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures
- Ability to maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at state and federal levels
- Ability to demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power)
- Ability to demonstrate mechanical knowledge
- Ability to be proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Ability to use testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
- Ability to complete forms e.g. time sheets, works order request forms indicating materials used/required, times, work undertaken etc.
- Ability to perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast-paced
- Ability to provide cover for other members of staff during holidays, sickness or other absences and in emergencies
- Ability to be proactive with people, keeping them informed
- Ability to maintain positive relations
- Ability to demonstrate good customer care
- Ability to ensure that all documents are completed complying with the GMP's practices when required
