Job Summary
Performs skilled electrical tasks to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and/or modify complex industrial equipment, processes and/or systems. Diagnoses causes of malfunctions or equipment failures; performs preventative and corrective electrical maintenance; assists in installation, calibration and start-up of new equipment. Works with minimal supervision, monitors quality of own work, and applies knowledge of electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial control systems, PLCs, high voltage power, distribution and instrumentation. Executes day-to-day operations in accordance with safety, food safety, and regulatory policies (EHS, FSQR) and follows procedures to minimize environmental impact. Operates and maintains equipment in plant facilities, and collaborates on safety, QA, and process improvements; requires strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to read blueprints/layout drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Possession of Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A by the Ontario College of Trades or Red Seal certification
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics; experience with PLCs and industrial control systems
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
- Basic computer and typing skills
- English communication (verbal/written)
