Job Summary
Licensed Electrician with Ontario credentials will install, maintain, troubleshoot and modify complex industrial electrical equipment and systems in a food/FSQR-centered operation. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, assisting in installation/start-up of new equipment, reading electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, high-voltage distribution, and instrumentation; ensuring compliance with Environment, Health & Safety and Food Safety (HACCP/FDA) requirements; operating in a 3rd shift environment with minimal supervision; and supporting day-to-day operations within the plant. Requires 309A or 442A (or Red Seal) certification, ability to work in varied conditions, and English communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Possession of Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A by the Ontario College of Trades or Red Seal certification
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with PPE
- Basic use of a computer and typing skills
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
- Relates to maintenance and electrical trades experience within industrial environment
- Experience with reading electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, and instrumentation
- Knowledge of food safety fundamentals and ability to complete safety inspections and housekeeping audits
- Ability to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
- Knowledge of SAP or CMMS (preferred)
