Job Summary
Licensed Electrician role responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial electrical systems in a food/animal protein processing environment. Tasks include diagnosing malfunctions, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, assisting in installation and start-up of new equipment, reading electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, and working with high voltage power and instrumentation. Emphasis on safety, EHS/FSQR compliance, HACCP/FDA requirements, and efficient operation of plant processes. 3rd shift starting at 11:00 pm with weekend/holiday overtime expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A certification by the Ontario College of Trades or Red Seal
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Must be able to perform electrical tasks to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and/or modify complex industrial equipment, processes and/or systems
- Experience with electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial control systems, PLCs
- Knowledge of HACCP/FDA requirements and food safety fundamentals
- Ability to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
- Welding certification and/or other trade experience
- Possession of appropriate trade certification (309A/442A)
