Job Summary
Layout, install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complicated electrical equipment and circuits while troubleshooting control system malfunctions to avoid production delays. Analyze electrical issues, read wiring schematics, and correct problems quickly. Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and company procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment and responding to alarms. Work flexible shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays with little notice, often involving overtime, extended standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. This role supports GM's mission to achieve Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion within the industrial plant environment.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice
