Job Summary
Install electrical equipment, wire variable frequency drives, and repair industrial electronic devices while working with voltage levels up to 480 and 4160. Coordinate efforts with operators and supervisors to plan equipment layouts, resolve system problems, and troubleshoot malfunctions using test equipment and software. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspect components for defects, and maintain equipment logs to track performance and repairs. Enter notifications into the maintenance computer program and adhere to the National Electric Code and state safety standards. Work extended shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in both indoor and outdoor plant environments.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the united states without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
- Ability to work in elevated areas
- Must be able to operate machinery
- Must be able to read/write English
- High School diploma or Equivalent
- Basic computer skills including being able to enter and retrieve data
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
- Must be able to perform electrical maintenance trade
- Experience working with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications and the mathematical knowledge required for such work
- Must be able to operate mobile equipment
- Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
- Must be willing and able to work in inclement conditions and extreme temperatures
- Must be able to work in an outdoor, and indoor plant environment
- Must have very good time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Must have adequate transportation
- Must have a strong commitment to safety
- Must follow the National Electric Code; comply with state and Cargill standards
- Must adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety
- Must follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations, including use of proper PPE
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Install conduit and pull wire
- Must be able to enter confined spaces under proper permit conditions and supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with wiring and programing Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
- Experience using electrical test equipment to perform analysis and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code
- Mechanical aptitude to work from all types of blueprints, maintenance manuals, and drawings
- Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska or equivalent
- A 2-year degree in electromechanical, electrical system, or equivalent
