Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments in the Emergency Department, responding to crisis calls and providing direct crisis intervention for patients with behavioral health and substance abuse needs. Coordinate care by facilitating referrals to community providers, managing discharge planning, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of clinical treatment. Shift differential available for the 3:00PM-11:30PM Monday through Friday schedule (with Sunday through Thursday options). Requires current CT license (LCSW, LMFT, or LPC) and two years of psychiatric experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current CT license LCSW, LMFT, or LPC
- Master's degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy
- A minimum of two years' experience in a psychiatric setting
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- LCSW
- Experience in an emergency department/crisis role
- Four years' experience
- Bi-lingual Spanish language skills
- Cultural competence
- Recognition and addressing of health disparities-inequalities and injustices directed toward clients, related to access to care and provision of health services
