Job Summary
Provide creative arts therapy through goal-oriented structured sessions utilizing music, art, and dance techniques for an assigned caseload of elementary and middle school students. Conduct interventions to foster creativity, socialization, and coping skills for youth who have experienced trauma while maintaining electronic records and managing reportable incidents. Assist in operating, maintaining, and purchasing equipment and materials necessary for therapeutic sessions. Engage clients to build rapport and address motivation or resistance to therapy attendance. Work evenings and Saturdays as part of a 20-hour weekly schedule. Approach practice with an anti-racism lens to support community engagement and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- NYS LCAT Licensed Creative Arts Therapist
- Master's degree in creative arts therapy
- Level of expertise in a specific creative art, such as art, music, and/or dance
- Able to work evenings and/or Saturdays
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students
