Job Summary
Meet with patients to determine mental health concerns, provide targeted counseling, and assist individuals in implementing behavior modification strategies and coping skills. Collaborate with case management, psychiatry partners, and the primary care team to deliver holistic treatment plans, including crisis management counseling and facilitating in-patient or residential admissions. Complete charting and billing in the Electronic Health Record while participating in staff meetings and training sessions. May provide off-site services with ministry partners. Requires a Master's degree, state-mandated LCSW or LPC license, and knowledge of evidenced-based methodologies such as CBT and DBT.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in counseling or a related field
- All state-mandated licenses required for practice as a clinical counselor (LCSW or LPC)
- Must be credentialed to see teens
- Knowledge of evidenced based counseling methods (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to gain clients therapeutic trust so they will be open with the counselor
- Ability to deliver treatment that is customized to meet the unique needs of every patient
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with clients and staff of different cultural backgrounds
Desired Qualifications
- Credentialed to see children and adults preferred
- Ability to incorporate spirituality into counseling sessions as appropriate/desired
- Willingness to refer patients to other healthcare providers as needed
- Bilingual preferred
