Job Summary
Full-time Licensed Driver Examiner in Grande Prairie responsible for independently and objectively assessing members of the public to determine driver licensing. Conduct class 5 and/or 6 road tests according to Transportation and Economic Corridors standards, determine knowledge and ability of drivers to operate passenger vehicles, provide examination results and constructive feedback, and ensure fair, respectful examinations. Report to the Chief Examiner, maintain a 5-year clean driving abstract, hold a valid Alberta Driver Examiner Licence, and possess strong communication and computer skills. Requires availability to work 5 days a week with mandatory Saturdays; in-office work model.
Required Qualifications
- valid Driver Examiner Licence from Transportation
- clean 5-year Driver’s Abstract showing no criminal convictions or suspensions, satisfactory driving record with less than 7 demerit points
- valid Class 1, 2, 3 or 4 Alberta Operator’s License
- at least 5 years of driving experience as the holder of a Class 4, 5 and/or 6 driver’s licence
- driver’s licence never cancelled or suspended due to a Traffic Safety Act or Criminal Code (Canada)
- grade 12 education, equivalent or higher
- ability to make decisions independently in challenging customer situations
- ability to work in variable working conditions
- top notch communication skills
- Intermediate-level computer skills in Microsoft Office
