Job Summary
Direct prevention and treatment services for families referred for suspected maltreatment, including conducting psychosocial assessments, developing safety plans, and providing voluntary counseling via home visits and group therapy. Coordinate primary and secondary prevention activities, educational presentations, and referrals to community resources while monitoring client progress. Act as the primary treatment provider and community liaison for assigned cases, ensuring ongoing safety planning and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to reduce maltreatment risk factors.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from a CSWE accredited school
- U.S. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Two (2) years of full-time post-master's degree experience (within the last three (3) years) in professional clinical counseling service programs to men, women, and children who are abusive or abused
- Two (2) years' experience working with children, families, and groups in clinical or community organization settings; or as program manager, with demonstrated responsibilities in program planning with the implementation of education and intervention services, and community collaboration
- Experience working with professionals and agencies that provide community support and counseling intervention services to children and families
- Experience as a group therapy facilitator or co-leader
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements, reflected of CDC guidelines, for diseases including Hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, influenza, and proof of a negative TB skin test
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with local laws and the legal rights of victims, including how to obtain protective orders
- Knowledge of available community resources allows advocates to connect survivors with housing, counseling, and financial assistance
- Ability to develop and implement safety plans tailored to each victim's situation
- Understanding trauma-informed care principles helps advocates provide support that prioritizes healing and empowerment
