Job Summary
Licensed Blaster responsible for blasting activities per the job program, reporting results to Blasting Supervisor and Project Superintendent. Responsibilities include performing assigned blasting activities on job sites, conducting pre-blast tests and seismograph setup, ensuring safety policy compliance, coordinating material requests, documenting explosives usage and inventory, and transporting explosives across state lines as needed. Requires High School degree, two years’ drill/explosives experience, Blaster I/II training, valid blasting certificate, CDL with hazmat endorsement and clean driving record, and ability to travel out of town/state; background check with ATF is required. Works under supervision and attends safety meetings; entails physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on varied surfaces. Location based in Asheville, NC with on-site work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree
- Minimum of two years experience working with drills and explosives
- Blaster I training
- Blaster II training
- Valid Blasting Certificate in states that require this
- CDL with hazmat endorsement and valid driving record
- Out of town/state travel
- Pass a criminal background check with ATF
- Proficient in all areas of drill operations
