Job Summary
Performs blasting activities on construction sites under direction of Blasting Supervisor and Project Superintendent. Responsibilities include conducting pre-blast tests, seismograph setup, monitoring blast patterns, documenting explosive use, coordinating material requests, ensuring safety policies are followed, and reporting results. Requires CDL with hazmat endorsement, Blaster I/II training, and a valid blasting certificate; occasional travel may be required. Proficient in drill operations, blast design, and field accounting; communicates findings to supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree
- Minimum of two years experience working with drills and explosives
- Blaster I training
- Blaster II training
- Valid Blasting Certificate (where required)
- Valid CDL with hazmat endorsement and company-qualified driver
- Good driving record
- Out of town/state travel
- Criminal background check with ATF
- Understanding of blasting techniques and safety
