Job Summary
Provide individual, group, and family counseling to assist patients and families in achieving treatment goals, utilizing cognitive behavior therapy and age-appropriate interventions. Complete initial assessments by the first business day following admission and conduct ongoing assessments during informal and formal sessions, documenting all work in the DAIR format. Facilitate at least one weekly group therapy session and ensure family involvement twice weekly. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, psychiatrists, and community providers to develop treatment plans, coordinate daily care, and execute discharge planning. Assist with milieu management, admission intakes, and aggressive patient control using CPI methods during low census periods. Support patients and families with legal issues, guardianship petitions, court proceedings, and mandatory abuse reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training within 3 months
- Master's Degree: Counseling; Psychology; Social Work
- 1+ years of experience
- Advanced reading skills
- Advanced writing skills
- Advanced oral skills
- Communication Skills
- Ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker
- Interaction with a wide variety of people
- Maintain confidential information
- Ability to communicate only the facts to recipients or to decline to reveal information
- Ability to project a professional, friendly, helpful demeanor
- Basic computer knowledge: Uses word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail application, and web browser
- Comfortable within a Windows OS and learning new applications
- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
- Work may occasionally require travel to other Carle Health facilities/hospitals
- Required to drive your own vehicle for business purposes
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the Mental Health Code, the Confidentiality Act, The Mental Health Treatment Preference Act, HIPAA, laws pertaining to guardianship and custody, advance directive legislation and MMCI policies, as well as Elderly and Child Abuse reporting laws
