Job Summary
Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, including vital signs, phlebotomy, data gathering, and medication administration. Verify medications for Medical Assistants within your scope of practice. This role requires graduation from an accredited LVN school with a current California license, BLS certification, and experience in outpatient, inpatient, home health, or clinic settings. IV certification and wound care experience are preferred. Bilingual skills in English, Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese are advantageous depending on location. Work at AltaMed, the nation's largest Federally Qualified Health Center, serving over 400,000 patients in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited LVN school
- Current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
- Valid BLS certification or higher following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of providing patient care in outpatient/inpatient, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, or clinic setting
- IV certified
- Wound care experience
- Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental, and social needs of the patients
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location
