Job Summary
Provide patient/family-centered care in a secure correctional healthcare environment under the direction of a registered nurse. Perform nursing care for inmates/detainees, conduct medical intake screenings, and respond to medical emergencies inside the secure perimeter. Assist medical staff with examinations, procedures, and vital signs while maintaining control of sharps, medications, and medical equipment per safety standards. Work in locked cells, exam rooms, and segregation units, collaborating with correctional officers to ensure safe patient movement. Maintain required professionalism and boundaries while working rotating shifts and overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program
- Licensed as an LPN in South Carolina or a compact state
- A current CPR card (AHA BLS or Red Cross Professional Rescuer)
