Job Summary
Perform patient assessments within 30 minutes of treatment initiation, monitor vital signs for ESRD patients, and administer medications per physician orders. Initiate chronic hemodialysis therapy, maintain dialysis machines and water treatment systems, and document all activities accurately. Advocate for patients seeking medical intervention and participate in the patient care team to develop short and long-term care plans. Complete flow sheets, check stock levels, and maintain competency in medications and special equipment. Work overtime with little notice, lift up to 35 pounds, and remain on feet for long periods. Maintain skills related to hemodialysis procedures and participate in quality assurance cost containment programs.
Required Qualifications
- Current license for LPN/LVN in the state of practice.
- IV certified if state requires.
- CPR certified.
- Minimum of one year experience in a hospital or clinical setting
- Able to work overtime with little or no notice
- Able to lift minimum 35 pounds
- Able to be on your feet for long periods of time
