Job Summary
Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider while ensuring the safe and effective operation of hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. Perform day-to-day maintenance on hyperbaric equipment and serve as the point person for assessing materials appropriate for use in and around chambers. Provide wound-related patient care according to Basic Life Support and approved protocols, assist with intake and discharge after Vein Clinic training, and gather patient information and necessary supplies. Report quality of care issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager and communicate with team members regarding therapeutic interventions. Complete required Healogics hyperbaric and safety director training to perform specialized duties, potentially functioning as a Documentation Assistant (scribe). Apply all responsibilities according to Healogics, Hospital, and CMS guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program/state approved educational program
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice
- Two (2) or more years' experience as LPN/LVN
- One (1) or more years in SNF or LTACH setting
- Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Demonstrated organization, prioritization and time-management skills
- Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations
- Strong interpersonal, listening, as well as oral and written communication skills
- Customer service skills and follow-up skills
- Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with others and in a team environment
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to stay calm in all situations
- Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems
- Color perception
- Close, distance and peripheral vision
- Lifting/moving items up to 20 pounds
