Library Volunteer- Adult Literacy Tutor

Adult Literacy Tutors will report to the Adult Literacy Specialist and perform various tasks related to tutoring Adult Learners. Responsibilities include preparing meaningful, concise, and accurate reports; developing and maintaining good working relationships with library patrons and fellow tutors; exhibiting creativity to prepare informative and engaging lessons; loading and unloading materials for transportation to and from meeting locations; relating well with the general public and exhibiting a broad reading background; defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions; maintaining confidentiality of sensitive subject matter; and relating well with adults of varying economic and social backgrounds. The role requires a High School diploma and a valid State of Ohio driver’s license, along with patience, a positive attitude, and the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
