Job Summary
Library/Technology Paraeducator at Amethyst Brook Elementary School. Full-time 10-month paraprofessional role supporting library operations and providing technical assistance to the school community, including managing circulation, cataloging, and aiding patrons with library materials and digital devices; assists the librarian with collection development, processing, and displays; provides technical support for Chromebooks, cameras, laptops, and software; trains and supervises student workers and volunteers; collaborates with IT staff and faculty to support diverse learners in a public-facing role.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with and dedication to creating an environment welcoming to diverse learners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to organize time, prioritize tasks, and work independently
- Experience using library management systems and Microsoft and Google software (Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides); familiarity with Google Sites
- Experience assisting with cataloging, circulation, and patron records
- Ability to supervise student workers and volunteers
- Technical assistance to patrons and staff for library computers, Chromebooks, doc cameras, laptops, and software
- Ability to develop themed displays and bulletin boards
- Willingness to open/close library and follow IT staff direction
- Commitment to inclusion and serving a racially, ethnically, linguistically, culturally, gender, and neuro diverse school/community
