Job Summary
Library Services Specialist coordinates customer service and library operations at Bicentennial Branch; responsibilities include circulation desk activities, processing inter-library loans, cataloging support, assisting patrons with information needs, training patrons in makerspace equipment and software, developing and promoting programs and displays, and potentially serving as passport agent/notary. Roles may involve cross-training in multiple departments (Makerspace, Local History, Outreach) and travel to various library locations to present programs and services. Requires strong knowledge of library practices, databases, and reference resources, plus ability to train and guide patrons, manage multiple projects, and maintain accurate records. May supervise shifts and contribute to safety and outreach initiatives; priority on customer service, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Four years of any combination of relevant education, training or experience
- May be qualified to become a passport agent within six (6) months of hire
- A valid Driver's License, depending on assigned area
