Job Summary
Library Paraprofessional at George Memorial Library assists patrons with selecting materials and meeting informational needs, utilizes bibliographic indexes and MARC Records, searches catalogs and databases, assists with collection development and maintenance, plans and conducts library tours and youth services programs, creates and displays library materials, and collaborates with staff in emergency management activities; requires a Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience, strong computer skills, and excellent verbal and written communication; must be available for evening and weekend work; performs cataloging/classification duties and supports outreach activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- One year job related experience
- Relevant experience working with children in groups is preferred
- Computer skills
- Good verbal and written communication including interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials
- Organizational skills and the ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner
