Job Summary
Lead and collaborate with teachers to design authentic learning tasks and integrate information and communication skills to meet standards; lead technology integration across the school; provide instruction in classrooms and the library media center; manage and advocate for the library media program; supervise the library media center para-educator; curate a diverse print and digital collection; administer the media center budget, equipment, and facilities; maintain a welcoming, productive library environment and support safe, age-appropriate technology use; collaborate with district media specialists and IT staff; represent the school in communications with families.
Required Qualifications
- Holds CT certification as a school Library Media Specialist (062)
- Possesses a degree from an accredited college or university
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Capabilities to establish positive and productive working relationships with teachers and students
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
