Job Summary
Guide student activity and manage the library's daily operations. Provide informal instruction on library skills to students and staff. Prepare and maintain print and non-print materials for circulation while performing clerical duties such as typing and scheduling classes. Discharge automation system tasks including checking items in and out, re-shelving, and generating overdue notices. Promote reading through storytelling, read-aloud sessions, and keyboarding instruction. Manage library equipment by labeling, scheduling, inventorying, and troubleshooting computers. Inventor building technology materials and perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education
- Associate degree or higher
- Voluntary certification through the Board of Educational Examiners (Paraeducator Certification)
- Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys® (NCRC Assessment)
- Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys® assessments in Applied Mathematics
- Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys® assessments in Locating Information
- Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys® assessments in Reading for Information
- National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
- High school graduate
- Previous experience working with children
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and groups from all levels of the organization
- Effective listening skills
- Ability to gather, collate, and/or classify data
- Ability to work with a variety of data
- Problem-solving skills to identify issues and create action plans
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to use the computer
- Ability to process electronic requests
- Ability to retrieve and print information from various computer programs when needed
