Job Summary

Teach media literacy and digital citizenship lessons aligned with AASL standards, differentiating instruction for diverse learners while fostering a culturally responsive reading culture. Collaborate with classroom teachers to design units, model instructional technology, and assess student learning. Manage the library collection through annual inventory, weeding, and budget oversight, ensuring an inclusive environment that supports curriculum goals. Cultivate community partnerships, lead staff development in information literacy, and advocate for equitable access to resources across the school.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certification with a Library Media endorsement (must have completed a school library endorsement program)
  • Washington State Teaching Certification AND current enrollment in a school library endorsement program with ability to complete program within 1-2 years

Desired Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates that currently have an ELL, ESOL, or Bilingual endorsement
  • SIOP training
  • GLAD training
  • Minimum 3 years of successful teaching experience
