Job Summary
Library Evening Access Services Coordinator at ERAU oversees evening/weekend library operations, supervises student staff, handles circulation and technology support, uses the Alma Library Services Platform, enforces policies and FERPA confidentiality, coordinates facilities-related requests, participates in marketing/outreach, and supports training and scheduling for Access Services. The role requires supervisory experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a focus on delivering excellent user experiences during evening hours. The position centers on maintaining operations, assisting patrons, managing resources, and coordinating with Facilities Management and Safety teams.
Required Qualifications
- High school (or GED) level grammar, spelling, basic composition, and math
- 1 year experience working in a library or providing public service
- Analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of information systems and technical proficiency with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Internet end-user applications
- Ability to work in an environment with numerous interruptions; flexibility and adaptability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, public speaking, listening)
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Creativity, initiative, and self-direction; willingness to learn new methods
- Knowledge of library services platforms and library operations; familiarity with Library of Congress classification
- Knowledge of Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Recovery procedures
- Project management and supervisory experience (1 year)
- Experience supervising student staff and coordinating scheduling/evaluation
- Ability to use and troubleshoot library technology (LIBRARY SERVICE PLATFORM, OPAC, reserve module) and related equipment
- Commitment to outstanding public service and ability to interact positively with faculty, students, staff, and the public
- Experience with Course Reserves, managing circulation, and enforcing library policies and confidentiality requirements
- Experience with FERPA requirements and maintaining patron confidentiality
