Job Summary
The Library Assistant supports the Campus Librarian in library operations, including front desk services, collections maintenance, and user engagement. Responsibilities include creating user accounts, checking materials in/out, renewals, holds, interlibrary loan requests, finding and reshelving materials, aiding with catalog corrections, digitizing archival materials, planning library programming, assisting with the Warrior yearbook, marketing resources, and providing basic library instruction or programming in the evenings upon request. Requires proactive service orientation, strong customer service and communication skills, and proficiency with computers and common office/software tools.
Required Qualifications

- Intermediate knowledge of computers, social media, and productivity applications such as Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Canva.
- Intermediate knowledge of (academic) library operations and Library of Congress classification system
- Preferred: Some college completed
- Preferred: Experience working in higher education and/or libraries
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrates ability to warmly and readily serve students and staff
- Demonstrates efficiency and careful attention to detail
- Demonstrates strong customer service, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates creative insight to serve and improve the library
- Can sit, stand, climb stairs, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds
