Job Summary
Conduct daily patron services including checking out materials, answering inquiries, and assisting with computer tasks like printing and scanning. Manage collection maintenance by sorting, shelving, weeding, and processing incoming and outgoing items while evaluating circulation records. Handle administrative duties such as preparing bank deposits, processing payments for fines, and scheduling study rooms. Work part-time hours of 24 weeks, including day, evening, and weekend shifts with occasional Sunday coverage. Apply for the position online by the September 2, 2026 deadline.
Required Qualifications
- Have previous experience working with customers face to face
- Have a high school diploma or G.E.D
- Be available to work day, evening, and weekend hours - including Sundays as assigned
- Be able to work well in a team setting
- Be able to navigate basic computer functions, including Microsoft Word, Excel, internet browsing, and be able to learn Library's computer systems with simple training
- Able to multitask while assisting patrons in a fast-moving atmosphere
- Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position
- Able to cope with daily job-related stress and challenges
- Maintain a drug-free workplace
- May perform pre-employment substance abuse testing
Desired Qualifications
- Have previous library experience, either via past job or volunteering (preferred but not required)
- Be bilingual (preferred but not required)
