Job Summary
Manage access services areas and oversee circulation of materials internally and externally while supervising student assistants. Provide reference assistance, guide patrons in using library technology, and assist users with computers, printers, and online databases. Prepare promotional displays, record daily statistics and gate counts, and maintain supply inventories. Shelve books as needed and ensure services operate during scheduled hours, including some Saturdays and weekends. Work regularly scheduled hours with occasional weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Three (3) years of job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- preferably working in a library
- Some experience using Integrated Library Systems like Sierra, Millennium, or Alma
- Thorough understanding of access service operations
- Thorough understanding of Library of Congress and Dewey Classification Systems
- Good knowledge of sources of information
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
