Job Summary
Teach grade and age-appropriate reading, research, and media skills while developing diverse lesson plans and instructional materials. Provide varied learning experiences for individual and group performance, supervise out-of-classroom activities, and model effective strategies for multiple literacies. Cooperate with external agencies to expand resource access, evaluate software and hardware, and guide staff on copyright and licensing regulations. Maintain a supportive classroom environment using positive motivation and clear routines. Requires a Bachelor's degree with valid school librarian/media certification and ability to move continuously throughout the building.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with valid school librarian/media certification from RIDE or the ability to obtain
- Work environment and physical requirements consistent with those of a typical school environment
- Ability to move about the classroom and building continuously throughout the workday
- Utilize the computer (20%) of the time and other office equipment
