Librarian (Itinerant)

Operate and supervise the Media Center, planning and evaluating the total program while establishing policies that facilitate unimpeded access to information. Provide formal and informal instruction in information skills, material production, and instructional technologies to foster student competence. Develop collections through selection, acquisition, and evaluation to support curriculum needs, and assist the Principal in ensuring instructional materials align with student education goals. Supervise Library Assistants, adult volunteers, and student aides to ensure effective clerical routines, and consult with administrative staff regarding the library media program. Maintain records, prepare reports including budget and inventory, and stay current in the field through staff development and conferences. Promote the importance of the library media program to the school community. This itinerant role involves 0.8 FTE at Cardinal Ridge Elementary and 0.2 FTE with Virtual Distance Elementary, reporting to the Principal.
