Job Summary
Direct the operation of the school library/media center, providing services and resources to develop students’ literature appreciation and information literacy. Serve as teacher, materials expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure the library/media center supports instructional programs. Manage library resources, collaborate with faculty on research and curriculum, plan staff development, and promote digital resources, authentic technology integration, and digital citizenship. Plan, implement, and evaluate an effective library program aligned with district goals, including acquisitions, cataloging, and coordination with teachers for research instruction and curriculum support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s Degree in Library Science
- Valid Texas School Librarian Certificate or participation in a state-accredited master’s program with permission of advisor for Emergency School Librarian Certification
- Two (2) years successful classroom teaching experience
