Job Summary
Maintain the inmate library in accordance with Richmond City Justice Center standards, ensuring it holds a minimum of 200 books and 100 magazines at all times. Act as a resource for inmates regarding material checkout, letter writing, and form completion while managing the computerized check-out/return system and issuing overdue notices. Prepare monthly reports detailing patron visits, circulation, inventory, and expenditures, and maintain an accurate log of visits to POD areas. Explain new policies to the inmate population and general public monthly, and review eligibility for pre-trial offenders accessing legal materials. Manage a $500 monthly operating budget with submitted expense reports and maintain the center historian scrapbook. Initiate daily attendance sheets and perform other duties as directed by the Major of Services or Sheriff.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Library Science
- Three (3) years of experience as a librarian
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
