Job Summary
Children’s Librarian at CLP-Hill District for ages 0-11 and their caregivers; develops, implements, and promotes programs to support development, equity, and family engagement; works collaboratively with youth-serving staff to provide high-quality reference, readers advisory, and community-focused services; requires MLS/MLIS, PA driver’s license, and experience with children; 37.5 hours/week with days/evenings/weekends, $24/hour; on-site in Hill District, Pittsburgh, PA.
Required Qualifications
- MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited school
- Valid PA Driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Previous experience working with children is required
- Previous experience planning and presenting programs for children ages birth to 11 years preferred
- Excellent communication skills; written and oral
- Commitment to providing high quality customer service in accordance with CLP’s Philosophy of Service
- Clearance Requirements: PA State Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Criminal Records Check and Mandated Reporter Training upon offer of employment
