Job Summary
Plans and implements a school library program aligned with the district’s mission and goals; designs and evaluates the school library, providing leadership and expertise to ensure integration with the instructional program; administers policies to maintain an adequate library; plans library services including story activities, displays, and events to promote reading; maintains records and reports, manages budgets, inventories, and technology resources; collaborates with administrators, teachers, and staff to support curriculum, assessment, and instruction; recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates student assistants and volunteers; ensures copyright, fair use, and licensing compliance; participates in curriculum planning and school improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Louisiana teaching certificate with certification in School Library Science
- Three years of teaching experience desirable
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science preferred
