Liability Paralegal – Auto Insurance Defense (333/o)

Job Summary

Coordinate and schedule CMES, communicate with clients and expert witnesses, and maintain working knowledge of Florida Circuit Court procedures. Perform routine legal research, conduct investigations, draft documents, and obtain, review, summarize, and analyze relevant documents, reports, and records. Assist attorneys in preparing, reviewing, filing, and serving pleadings, motions, discovery, and subpoenas while analyzing and responding to incoming discovery. Review and prepare documents for production requests, analyze medical records, and take initiative to move case files toward trial or resolution. Work autonomously with low supervision, returning calls and managing email efficiently. Requires 3+ years of paralegal experience in insurance defense or general liability.

  • Must be able to return telephone calls / voicemails in a timely manner
  • Must maintain a clean email inbox
  • Must have a solid understanding of routine legal issues
  • Must have general knowledge of law office operations, practices, and procedures
  • Must have experience with Florida Circuit Court procedures
  • Must be able to review court dockets and retrieve case information
  • Must be able to assist in the preparation, review, filing, and service of pleadings, motions, discovery, and subpoenas
  • Must be able to review and prepare documents for document production requests
  • Must be able to analyze and respond to incoming discovery
  • Must be able to review and analyze medical records
  • Must be able to take initiative to move case files to trial/resolution
  • Must be able to work autonomously, with low supervision

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in insurance defense litigation
  • Prior experience in general liability
  • Bilingual
